SPIB Quality Control Course

8 AM until 4 PM
SPIB Quality Supervisor, Daniel Carroll facilitates this course. Some main topics are size control, optimization parameters, tracking and collecting data, and troubleshooting drying problems. Guest presenter, Nick Barrett with SiCam Systems will discuss lumber size control tools and technologies and other related topics. Additionally, we are joined this year by Mario Angel with Woodtech Measurement Solutions, the developer of Logmeter, which uses 3D laser scanner technology coupled with state of the art image recognition software to measure the volume and biometric characteristics of logs on the truck. The second day consists of more QC topics and a brief look at planer set up and finishing quality with Harry Meadows, Planer Consultant, and former SPIB Quality Supervisor. Learn how good manufacture on the finished end translates to improved grade yield and customer satisfaction.
